Bludgeon is a fictional character from the Wild Cards series of books.

HistoryEdit

Bludgeon first appeared as muscle for the Shadow Fist Society. They cut him loose because of the trouble he got into on Wild Card Day 1986, when he was beaten by both Billy Ray and Hiram Worchester. After that he worked for the Mafia, and again found himself without a steady employer when the Mafia was crushed during the Mafia-Shadow Fist gang war of 1987. In 1988, he boasted that he had killed Chrysalis to gain some prestige in hopes that the Shadow Fist Society would take him back. Yeoman, who was investigating Chrysalis's death, confronted him and viciously beat him until Bludgeon broke down and confessed the truth. Because he raped Sewer Jack in 1987, Bludgeon had contracted AIDS and was dying.

Wild Card TraitsEdit

Bludgeon is inhumanly strong and can take a lot of physical punishment. Contracting AIDS seems to have weakened Bludgeon's durability, as seen when Yeoman took him down in hand to hand combat.

AppearanceEdit

Bludgeon is a huge, hideously ugly joker/ace with a malformed right hand and arm that is nothing more than a stiffened club of muscle and bone, and a fist "the size and color of a smoked Virginia ham." His face is severely scarred and pockmarked, with one blue eye and one glaring red one. His head is covered with sores and boils instead of hair. After he contracted AIDS, he started looking sickly and frail.

PersonalityEdit

Bludgeon is brutal and lacking in intelligence. He tends to act before he thinks, and when he acts he usually acts foolishly. He can follow orders, but sometimes his temper gets the best of him. He is incredibly foul-mouthed. Nothing is known of his background, though he is well-known and feared on the streets. He has no friends, and is unlikely to ever have any.

TriviaEdit

  • Bludgeon is dying of AIDS.
  • He uses foul language on a constant basis.
