Dorian Wilde is a fictional character from the Wild Cards series of books.
Dorian Wilde, Jokertown's poet laureate, and frequent habitue of Jokers Wild. He was handsome once but is now rather bloated. He affects Edwardian dress, and likes to wear lace at his wrists. His right hand is a mass of mottled green tentacles that exude a putrid ichor. He cannot control the tentacles, which stir continually. Of indifferent cleanliness, he wears strong body washes to mask his aroma. Sometimes he takes the stage to read one of his trenchant poems, or perhaps a canto from his monumental work-in-progress, Ballad of the Living Sheol.
Dorian went on the 1987 WHO Tour, and was not well liked by anyone who accompanied him. He was kidnapped and tortured in Haiti, which led to his premature departure from the tour.
Dorian is a large man whose handsomeness is turning to fat. He affects Edwardian dress and prefers perfume over baths. His right 'hand' is a mass of wriggling, oozing tentacles that give off an acrid discharge.
Dorian has a tart and brittle wit and a languorous manner that verges on effeminacy. Most people find him to be a bore.
