Lowboy was the editor of Jetboy Comics in 1945-1946. His tenure started in the winter of 1945, after the former editor passed away. Under his opportunistic guidance, the comic lost all pretense of realism and the features on real-life aviation heroes were abandoned. The new stories were more science-fictional in tone, with monsters, time travel, and aliens. The sales of the comic doubled to half a million copies a month.
Lowboy personally met Jetboy once in August of 1946, when the wartime hero came by to visit Cosh Comics Company. Jetboy complained of the new direction of his comic, and Lowboy promised to look into it, but cynically used the conversation for inspiration to one of the more fantastical issues ever: Jetboy on Dinosaur Island.
