Magda is a fictional character in the Wild Cards series of books.
Magda was a nun from somewhere in Europe, who had become something of a fanatic warrior for the Allumbrados. Her effectiveness as a soldier eventually got her assigned to John Nighthawk's team sent to Italy to collect the Mandylion, a shroud that had reportedly been in contact with Jesus of Nazareth.
With that mission complete, Magda was assigned to bodyguard duty for Cardinal Contarini during an escalating conflict when Contarini had the Allumbrados focused on capturing and killing John Fortune. She followed Nighthawk's lead through the culmination of events however, and was consequently allowed to walk free after abandoning the objective to kill Fortune.
Magda is a thin woman with dark hair and eyes who wears a nun's habit when not on military missions.
Magda is a ruthless fanatic who has no qualms about killing if the mission requires it. She worries fellow operatives with her fanaticism, keeping others on edge due to the danger of her disobeying a directive that she might consider blasphemous. Magda is fiercely loyal to Cardinal Contarini and would do anything to protect him.
