Studs Terkel (1912-2009) was an American writer, journalist, and historian, referenced as the author of a document in the fictional Wild Cards universe. He was most famous for his efforts to preserve American oral history.

HistoryEdit

In 1979 Terkel published Wild Times: An Oral History of the Postwar Years, a book containing interviews with several people that lived through the hectic times when the wild card virus was released on Earth.

Trivia Edit

  • In real life, Terkel published Hard Times: An Oral History of the Great Depression.
  • Terkel is the pseudo-author of the prologue in the first Wild Cards novel. Actually, it was written by George R.R. Martin mimicking Terkel's style.
