Every since I first read Dead Man's Hand; I was curious about how strong Doughboy was. This is all we have to go on: Doughboy frequently breaks a 400lb door and that he plays frisbee with a manhole cover, throwing it 20-30 yards.

Not much to go on I know.

Let's begin to break it down.

A manhole cover weighs about 50kg or 110lbs. And he is able to throw it 60 to 90 feet.

I decided to do a comparison between Doughboy and myself. I can roughly lift 150lbs over my head, arms fully extended. I tried to see how far I could throw two different weights. I had a 20 pound dumbell and an eight pound dumbell.

I first threw the 20 pound dumbell. Needless to say I was a little disappointed in myself. I only managed to throw it 7.9 yards. I then threw the eight pound dumbell. A full 12 pounds lighter. Again, I was disappointed with myself. I had thrown the dumbell only 13 yards.

Now the guesswork begins. Unfortunately I suck at physics. I should have thrown the 25 pound dumbell as well just to get a better yards/pound ratio. So, for the sake of my ego I estimate that I would be able to throw three pounds at least 20 yards. If I could throw 3 pounds 20 yards, then I have my starting point.

110/3= 36.67 So, Doughboy is able an object that weighs 36.67 times more than the object I throw and still acheive the same distance. And if I can lift 150lbs, it's logical to think that Doughboy can lift 36.67 times more than I can.

150*36.67= 5500.50

This means that Doughboy can lift at least 5500.50lbs above his head. That is the minimum I came up with since I only theorized how much I could throw 20 yards, not 30.

End Result: Doughboy is strong enough to lift 5500.50lbs.

Please comment and share your thoughts. I will try to actually find how much weight I am able to throw for 20 and 30 yards. Please do the same. It will be interesting to see the results.
